Cardiff Airport and Welsh Government work closely together at Bro Tathan to provide a seamless operation of the runway and complimentary airside services.

Cardiff Airport is strategically located 5 miles south west of Bro Tathan and serves passengers and freight worldwide reaching over 50 direct destinations, including three European hub airports. 

Operating as a major driver of the Welsh economy, Cardiff Airport has an ambitious masterplan for growth over the next 20 years. As part of these plans, transport connectivity to and from the Airport and surrounding enterprise zone has recently been improved. With better access and connectivity, Cardiff Airport and Bro Tathan are well positioned to compete and attract inward investment.

The Aerospace Wales Forum is the trade association for all companies operating in the Aerospace & Defence sector in Wales. The forum consists of over 170 members whom they support through networking and exhibiting opportunities as well as representing the views of its members and the wider aerospace sector at regional, national and international levels.

Cardiff and Vale College

Cardiff and Vale College (CAVC) is one of the largest colleges in the UK, delivering high quality education and training across the capital region of Wales. 

Their International Centre for Aerospace Training (ICAT) is located within the Cardiff Airport and Bro Tathan Enterprise Zone. Specialising in the training of individuals in the aerospace sector, CAVC works closely with industry in Wales, UK and across the world. 

Working with 30,000 learners each year from young people to adults, CAVC has a huge responsive Further Education and Higher Education offer and a vast network of employers, also being the largest apprenticeship provider in Wales. 

An ambitious capital development plan has seen CAVC invest in and develop brand new landmark multi-million pound campuses across the region, providing inspirational learning facilities that meet industry requirements. 

Plans are in place for the creation of significant new sites in the Vale of Glamorgan over the next three years including a dedicated centre of excellence directly supporting priority growth sectors of aerospace, automotive, construction and advanced manufacturing. These state of the art facilities are all being developed in line with government priorities, employer and community needs and directly supporting continued growth and prosperity across the region.
