Case Studies

Aston Martin

The iconic British carmaker Aston Martin Lagonda announced in 2016 that it would be opening a manufacturing location at Bro Tathan. Impressed by the 90-acre site, Bro Tathan beat off a number of rival sites to be the newest manufacturing location for Aston Martin where it will produce its first SUV, the DBX.

The DBX was unveiled at the end of 2019 and is currently being built in a state of the art luxury manufacturing plant that will ultimately become the “Home of Electrification” where the marque’s fully EV models enter production.

Aston Martin’s new battery electric vehicles will be made in the Vale of Glamorgan, which will also be the manufacturing home for its Lagonda brand.

The new plant brings employment opportunities to Bro Tathan with up to 750 roles being created, with a series of recruitment events in the region attracting more than 3,000 applications. The first technicians have already been recruited and are working on the DB11 at Aston Martin’s Gaydon Headquarters, training for the highly skilled roles they will take up at Bro Tathan.
